- Umm Ahmad (may Allâh preserve her) said that we should look to our friends and see if they increase us in Eemaan (faith) or decrease us in Eemaan. Because we were commanded to love those who increase our faith and there are many Adhadeeth speaking about the harm of those who are bad friends and who do not increase us in our Eemaan. So again, if you are truthful in loving Allâh then you will hate the things that Allâh hates most (i.e. Kufr, Shirk, and those who have taken to these things) and you will too; commit to these things (e.g., loving for Allâh’s sake and hating for Allâh’s sake).
